Factually incorrect information being reported about referendum results
A number of media outlets have been reported as saying that referendum votes will be invalid if only Part A of the paper is completed.
This is incorrect.
As the referendum voting paper stated:
You may vote in both Part A and Part B or you may vote in only Part A or only Part B.
“Voters can be reassured that their referendum votes will count even if they voted only in the first question,” says Robert Peden, Chief Electoral Officer.
