Final Boundaries
The 2007 Representation Commission has finalised the electorate boundaries for the next two elections.
The new boundary for your electorate can be viewed on the detailed electorate maps.
Summary of Changes
There will be 70 electorates at the next two general elections. These include:
- the additional new electorate in Auckland named Botany.
- new names for nine electorates, to better reflect the new electorate boundaries
- the electorates of Clevedon, Port Waikato, Piako, Ohariu-Belmont, Banks Pennisula, Rakaia, Aoraki, Otago and Tainui used in the 2005 election being replaced with the new electorate names and boundaries
- the 2005 boundaries in seven electorates Whangarei, North Shore, Northcote, Tauranga, Kaikōura, Te Tai Tokerau and Waiariki remaining unchanged.
- eleven electorate names with macrons added:
- Te Atatū
- Tāmaki
- Māngere
- Taupō
- Rangitīkei
- Ōtaki
- Ōhariu
- Kaikōura
- Tāmaki Makaurau
- Te Tai Hauāuru
- Ikaroa-Rāwhiti

The final boundaries can also be viewed at:
- Registrar of Electors’ offices
- Te Puni Kōkiri regional offices
- Māori Land Court offices
- Land Information New Zealand offices
- Libraries.
The 2007 boundaries that have now been finalised will apply from the next general election. Existing boundaries will apply for any by-election that may occur prior to the next general election.
